Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry 2025: The Indian Navy has officially released the notification for its well-known 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme for the January 2026 batch. This is a great chance for young and active students who are not married and have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Candidates must also have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2025 exam.

There are a total of 44 openings for this Permanent Commission entry. Selected candidates will receive a four-year B.Tech degree and get a direct opportunity to become officers in the Indian Navy under Executive and Technical branches.

Vacancy Details

The 44 available positions are divided under the Executive and Technical branches of the Navy. Out of these, a maximum of 6 seats are reserved for female candidates.

Note: Whether a candidate joins the Executive or Technical (Engineering & Electrical) branch will be decided at the Naval Academy. This decision will depend on the Navy’s needs and the candidate’s performance during training.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must read and understand all the eligibility rules. These rules are based on education, age, nationality, and marital status.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12 (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • They must have scored at least 70% marks combined in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • They also need a minimum of 50% marks in English, either in Class 10 or Class 12.

JEE (Main) Requirement

  • Candidates must have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2025 exam (Paper for B.E./B.Tech).
  • The call for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview will be based only on the All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2025, released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Age Limit

  • Applicants must have been born between 2 July 2006 and 1 January 2009 (both dates inclusive).

Nationality and Marital Status

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply.
  • Marriage is not allowed during the entire four-year training period. If any candidate marries during training, they will be removed from the course.

Indian Navy Officer Salary and Benefits – 10+2 B.Tech Entry

Training Period Stipend

While training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), cadets will be given a fixed monthly stipend.

Salary After Commission

Once the training is completed, cadets will be promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant. Their monthly salary will be based on Level 10 of the Defence Pay Matrix:

  • ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500
  • Plus, ₹15,500 per month as Military Service Pay (MSP)

Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech Entry 2025 – Selection Process

The selection process includes several steps to choose the best candidates for a career as Navy officers.

Step 1: Shortlisting Applications

After you submit your online application, the Navy will shortlist candidates based on their JEE (Main) 2025 Common Rank List (CRL). Only those who meet the cutoff will be invited for the SSB Interview.

Step 2: SSB Interview

Shortlisted candidates will receive an SSB call letter via email and SMS. The interview process lasts 5 days and takes place at centers like Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam.

  • Stage 1 (Screening): Includes an Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and a Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
    Only candidates who clear this stage will move to Stage 2.
  • Stage 2 (Detailed Testing): Over the next 4 days, candidates will undergo psychological assessments, group tasks (GTO), and a personal interview.

Step 3: Medical Examination

Candidates who are recommended in the SSB interview will be called for a medical test at a military hospital. The medical standards are strict, and no relaxation will be given.

Step 4: Final Merit List

The final merit list will be based on your SSB marks only. If you pass the medical exam and police/background check, and there are vacancies available, you will receive your final appointment.
