Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was born in 1820 AD in a poor Brahmin family and he had achieved a great achievement as a Sanskrit student.

For his great education, the Sanskrit College of Calcutta, which he had been principal for some years, gave him the title of ‘Vidyasagar’.

He was attacked by conservative Hindus.

In the year 1855, when he was made the school inspector. He had established many new schools.

Including the school for the girls in the districts which came under their jurisdiction.

High officials did not like his work and ultimately he resigned from his post.

They were also associated with Bitu, who founded the first school in 1849 for the education of women in Calcutta.
