TNPSC CTSE 2025 – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as of June 13, 2025)
Each post has its own qualification rules. Below is a simplified chart of the required educational background:

Important Note About Higher Qualifications:
According to the official notification, if the required qualification is a Diploma, then candidates who have a Degree in the same subject will also be considered eligible. However, for certain posts like Assistant Agricultural Officer, Assistant Horticultural Officer, and Junior Tradesman, candidates with higher qualifications such as degrees are not allowed to apply.

Maximum Age
- For General Category (Others):
Age limits vary depending on the post, ranging from 30 to 47 years. - For Reserved Categories (SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), BCM, and Destitute Widows):
There is no maximum age limit for most posts, but the candidate should not have crossed 60 years.

Salary and Benefits – TNPSC CTSE 2025
Once selected, candidates will receive a salary based on their assigned post and corresponding pay level under the government’s pay matrix. The matrix ranges from Level 1 to Level 20, with additional government allowances and benefits included.
- Level 20: ₹37,700 – ₹1,38,500
- Level 10 to 15: ₹20,600 – ₹1,34,200
- Level 1 to 8: ₹18,000 – ₹75,900

Selection Procedure – TNPSC CTSE 2025
The selection process will include a written exam followed by certificate verification.
Written Exam Structure
Paper-I (Mandatory for all posts):
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC level) – 100 questions (Qualifying only)
- Part B: General Studies (SSLC level) – 75 questions
- Part C: Aptitude & Mental Ability (SSLC level) – 25 questions
Paper-II (Subject-Specific):
- Based on the post applied for – 200 questions of Diploma/ITI level
Certificate Verification
Candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for both onscreen and physical verification of certificates.
Counselling
For applicable posts, shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling based on their merit rank to finalize post allotment.
Final Selection
The final merit will be based on the combined marks of Part B & C from Paper-I and the entire Paper-II. Selection will be done as per the reservation guidelines.
