CSIR IIIM Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Requirements:

For Junior Secretariat Assistant (Post Codes: JSA-01, JSA-02, JSA-03):

Applicants must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent level of education from a recognized board.
It is also necessary to have good typing skills on the computer and basic computer knowledge, as per the latest rules set by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT).

For Junior Stenographer (Post Code: JSTENO-04):

Candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam.
They must also be skilled in stenography as per the standards fixed by the DOPT from time to time.

Age Criteria:

  • Junior Secretariat Assistant: Age should not be more than 28 years.
  • Junior Stenographer: The Maximum age limit is 27 years.

Note: The age and qualification will be calculated based on the last date of online application submission.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years of relaxation on the upper age limit.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Relaxation of 3 years.
  • Widows, Divorced Women, and Judicially Separated Women (not remarried): Can apply up to the age of 35 years. For SC women, the upper age limit is 40 years. Proper documents must be provided.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):
    • 10 years of relaxation for the general category
    • 13 years for OBC
    • 15 years for SC
    • Maximum age must not exceed 56 years.
    • Candidates must have at least 40% disability. Even if the post is not reserved for PwBD, relaxation applies if the role is considered suitable.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation will be provided as per the rules of the Government of India and CSIR.

CSIR IIIM Salary and Benefits

Candidates who get selected will receive a good salary package along with several benefits.

For Junior Secretariat Assistant (General / Finance & Accounts / Stores & Purchase):

  • Job Type: Group C (Non-Gazetted)
  • Salary Range: ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 (as per Pay Level 2)

For Junior Stenographer:

  • Salary Range: ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 (as per Pay Level 4)

CSIR IIIM Selection Process 2025

The recruitment process is different for each position.

Junior Secretariat Assistant (General / F&A / S&P)

1. Screening:
Candidates who meet all the eligibility conditions will be shortlisted by the screening committee.

2. Proficiency Test (Typing):
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a computer typing and basic usage test. This test is only qualifying, meaning marks won’t count in the final merit list.

Typing Speed Requirement:

  • English: 35 words per minute
  • Hindi: 30 words per minute
    (Duration: 10 minutes)
    (This is equal to 10500/9000 key depressions per hour, based on 5 key strokes per word)

3. Written Examination (Objective Type):

  • Mode: OMR or Computer-based
  • Questions: Multiple Choice
  • Languages: English and Hindi (except English section)
  • Level: Class 12 standard
  • Total Questions: 200
  • Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Paper-I (Qualifying Only):

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Subject: Mental Ability (includes Intelligence, Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, and Situational Judgment)
  • Questions: 100
  • Marks: 200 (2 marks each)
  • No negative marking

Paper-II (Used for Merit List):
Evaluated only if Paper-I is qualified

  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Section 1: General Awareness – 50 questions – 150 marks (3 marks each) – 1 mark deducted for wrong answers
  • Section 2: English Language – 50 questions – 150 marks (3 marks each) – 1 mark deducted for wrong answers

Final Merit List:
Will be prepared based only on marks obtained in Paper-II. Paper-I and the typing test are qualifying in nature and will not affect the ranking.

Junior Stenographer

1. Screening:
Candidates fulfilling all eligibility requirements will be shortlisted.

2. Proficiency Test (Stenography):
Shortlisted candidates must take a stenography skill test. This test is also qualifying and does not add to the final marks.

Dictation:

  • Language: English or Hindi (as per candidate’s choice)
  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Speed: 80 words per minute

Transcription Time:

  • English: 50 minutes (70 minutes for those eligible for a scribe)
  • Hindi: 65 minutes (90 minutes for those eligible for a scribe)

3. Written Examination (Objective Type):

  • Mode: OMR or Computer-based
  • Format: Multiple Choice Questions
  • Languages: English and Hindi (except English Language section)
  • Level: Class 12
  • Total Questions: 200
  • Time: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe)

Exam Structure (Single Paper with Three Sections):

  • Section 1: General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 questions – 50 marks – 0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer
  • Section 2: General Awareness – 50 questions – 50 marks – 0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer
  • Section 3: English Language & Comprehension – 100 questions – 100 marks – 0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer

Final Merit List:
Will be made based on the written exam marks, only for candidates who pass the stenography skill test. The committee may set a minimum qualifying score.

Tie-Breaking Rules (Applicable for Both Posts):

If two or more candidates get the same total marks, the following order will be followed:

  1. Candidate with fewer negative marks will be ranked higher
  2. Older candidate will be ranked higher
  3. Candidate who passed the minimum required qualification earlier will be given preference
  4. Alphabetical order of the first name will be considered

Note:
Whether the written test or the skill test will be held first will be decided by the Selection Committee. Details will be published on the CSIR-IIIM official website.

Step 1: Pay the Application Fee

If the application fee is applicable to you, follow these steps:

  • Visit SB Collect and search for ‘Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine’
  • Choose the payment category named ‘APPLICATION FEE – Advt. 03R/2025’
  • Fill out the form and pay ₹500/-
  • Once payment is done, download and save the receipt (e-receipt). You will need to send it with the hard copy of your application later

Step 2: Register on the Portal

  • After making the payment, go to the recruitment portal and complete the registration process
  • You will get a verification link on your email – click it to verify your email address
  • Without email verification, you will not be able to log in to the portal

Step 3: Fill the Online Application & Upload Documents

After logging in, fill in the complete form by entering:
