The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Fourth Paradigm Institute (CSIR-4PI) has shared a new job notification through Advertisement No. 02/2025. They are inviting applications from hardworking and interested Indian citizens for different administrative posts.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

For Junior Secretariat Assistant (General, Finance & Accounts, Stores & Purchase):

Salary and Benefits for JSA & Steno Positions

Those who get selected through this recruitment will receive a good salary package along with several benefits, all according to the rules set by CSIR.

1. Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):

  • Pay Level: Level 2 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC)
  • Pay Scale: ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 per month

2. Junior Stenographer (JST):

  • Pay Level: Level 4 under the 7th CPC

CSIR 4PI Recruitment Selection Process 2025

The selection for this post has two main stages:

  1. A written examination
  2. A typing test

Written Examination Details:

  • The exam will be either OMR-based or conducted on a computer.
  • All questions will be multiple-choice and objective-type.
  • Questions will be asked in both English and Hindi, except for the English section.
  • The difficulty level of the exam will be similar to the Class 12 standard.
  • Total Questions: 200
  • Total Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Paper-I (Qualifying Purpose Only)

  • Time: 90 minutes
  • Subject: Mental Ability Test (includes General Intelligence, Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, and Situational Judgment)

  • Total Marks: 200 (2 marks for each correct answer)
  • Negative Marking: No marks will be deducted for wrong answers in this paper.

Paper-II (Used for Merit Ranking)

Only candidates who pass Paper-I with the required minimum marks will be considered for Paper-II evaluation.

Typing Test (Only for Qualification)

  • English Typing Speed: 35 words per minute (which equals 10,500 key strokes per hour)
  • Hindi Typing Speed: 30 words per minute (which equals 9,000 key strokes per hour)
  • The candidate must choose either English or Hindi typing during the application process, and this choice cannot be changed later.

Evaluation Guidelines (as per Annexure-I):

  • For UR/OBC/SC/OH/VH categories: Up to 5% typing mistakes will be ignored.
  • For ST/HH/Ex-Servicemen: Up to 7% typing mistakes will be allowed.

Final Merit List (JSA)

The final selection list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in Paper-II by candidates who successfully pass the typing test.

Selection Process for Junior Stenographer

The selection process includes:

  1. A competitive written exam
  2. A proficiency test in stenography

  • The exam will be objective type, held either on OMR sheets or a computer.

  • Part III: English Language & Comprehension – 100 Questions, 100 Marks
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in all sections

Stenography Proficiency Test (Only for Qualification)

  • Candidates will receive a 10-minute dictation in either English or Hindi, depending on their preference mentioned in the application.
  • Speed Requirement: 80 words per minute

Transcription Time:

  • English: 50 minutes (70 minutes for candidates who are allowed a scribe)
  • Hindi: 65 minutes (90 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates)

Evaluation Criteria (as per Annexure-II):

  • Unreserved (UR): Up to 7% errors allowed
  • All Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD): Up to 10% errors allowed

Final Merit List (JST)

The final selection list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written exam, but only for candidates who successfully qualify for the stenography test.

  3. Register: Sign up using your name and email address, and set a password.
  4. Login: After successful registration, log in with your credentials.
  5. Fill out the application form: Carefully enter all the required information in the online form. The shortlisting for the written exam will be based on the details you provide here.
  6. Upload required documents:
    • Recent passport-size color photograph in JPEG format (maximum 100 KB, about 300 pixels wide by 400 pixels high, no cap, ears must be visible, white background, taken within the last 3 months).
    • Scanned signature in JPEG format (maximum 100 KB, about 130 pixels wide by 150 pixels high).
    • Self-attested copies of certificates including Date of Birth, educational qualifications (all mark sheets semester or year wise), work experience (if any), caste/community/disability certificates (if applicable), and relevant certificates for widow/divorced/judicially separated women or ex-servicemen (if applicable).
